Transforming an unused basement into a new laundry room
Blog 02/16/2016
Saniflo Canada sat down with Mark Venters, of Venters Recruits, to discuss how Saniflo helped solve his basement plumbing challenge and what the experience has been like:
Can you share a little bit about your plumbing renovation challenge?
We have a basement in our house and have a lot of unused space down there. We wanted to add a laundry room to the area to help maximize it but traditional plumbing posed a real problem. Our house is on a septic system and the sewer line is suspended at the basement ceiling.
How did Saniflo solve this problem for you?
The Saniflo unit allowed us to install our washer and sink underneath the sewer line and pump wastewater up to the main line. Plus the unit is very small and it was easy to hide, helping to make the area look nice as well as be functional. It transformed the space for us, when nothing else would have been possible.
Where did you first hear about Saniflo as a solution for this type of plumbing problem?
While we were trying to find a way to put in the laundry without having to do extensive plumbing renovations, I came across Saniflo in a plumbing magazine. It seemed like it could be the answer we were looking for.
How long has it been since you installed your laundry room?
Four months and counting.
How has your experience with Saniflo been?
Excellent! It was super easy to install and if a recruiter like me can do it, anyone can. Not only that but it is amazingly quiet, you can’t here a thing. I would definitely recommend it to people; it works!
A solution to troubling drainage challenges, the Sanivite is a small above-floor, drain water pump that is designed to be used anywhere from the basement to the attic. The unit connects to a variety of outlets including sink or indirectly to a washing machine and single drainpipe can handle the toughtest applications. It is small enough to fit underneath a washbasin or inside a cabinet. With a pumping distance of up to 16 feet and/or 1450 feet horizontally (with gravity fall), the unit can solve even the most challenging installation requirements.
