The Sanicom 2 heavy duty - high temp - duplex drain pump is used to pump gray water away from a variety of fixtures in commercial and residential applications. The system is able to discharge the waste up to 32 feet vertical and/or 390 feet horizontal through a 1.5" diameter pipe. This model was designed to sustain the toughest applications from commercial applications where hot water can be an issue as it is capable of handling up to 194°F.
The Sanicom 2 model was designed to sustain the toughest applications meant for gray water pumps. Its pumping capabilities and unique design are the reason why these range of pumps are preferred for heavy duty applications.
The inside of the Sanicom 2 comprises of a pressure switch and a circuit board assembly, which starts and stops the unit, two powerful 2-HP motors. Comes equipped with built-in check valves on the discharge of each motor.
Smart-pump technology allows both pumps to work simultaneously if the incoming rate is higher than the discharge rate of the single pump. System is capable of handling multiple fixtures at the same time as it can handle up to 140 gallons per minute
The motor is sealed for life in an oil filled enclosure. A spindle/shaft drives the impeller and therefore the moving parts are kept to an absolute minimum. Water enters the chamber and is pumped away into the sanitary sewer.
The unit pumps the effluent upward to 32 feet and/or 390 feet horizontally through a 1.5" diameter pipe (with gravity fall). Once the water is discharged and the water level in the container goes down, the pressure switch deactivates the unit until water enters the unit again. A normal operating cycle for the Sanicom 1 can be as short as 4 - 6 seconds depending upon the discharge pipe run configuration; power consumption is therefore minimal.
The Sanicom 2 has been designed to keep maintenance to a minimum. If servicing is needed, the two motors, electrical components, pressure-level switches and dip tubes are all readily accessible and easily removed.
The Sanicom 2 handles up to 194°F water, making it perfect for commercial kitchen applications where dishwashers must operate at exceptionally high temperatures to meet health and sanitation standards. In addition, the unit is specially designed to withstand liquids with highly acidic properties, such as wastewater from processing applications. Its important to use the proper pipe rated for high temperature on the discharge as well as for the inlets.
The Sanicom 2 enclosure offers a two-inch inlet on either side, in compliance with major plumbing codes in the United States and Canada. These inlets are positioned closer to the floor than those found on conventional drain pumps, helping to speed installation by reducing the height at which floor-level plumbing fixtures must sit to achieve proper drainage.
Includes a vent connection on top of the enclosure. All plumbing codes require connection to a vent system. Please note that the vent system should be a two-way air vent. The use of mechanical vents, air admittance valves or similar devices are not permitted as these are considered one-way air vent systems.
This unit's is designed with heavy duty capabilities in mind. This unit's external case is engineered from a heavy duty material: HDPE High-density polyethylene - aiding with chemical drain resistance. Designed to include a fail-proof sensing mechanism system. Three pressure switches are installed on its own internal dip tube in order to detect the water level inside the enclosure making it nearly impossible for the system to fail.
Measuring 19 inches wide x 13-3/4 inches high x 19-1/4 inches deep, the heavy-duty Sanicom 2 is slightly larger and, at 57 pounds, 35 pounds heavier than its predecessor. The unit comes equipped with an external wired control panel with override buttons and LED power and alarm indicators. An external alarm box is optional.
It is also highly recommended for the gray water pump to be connected to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit.
The Sanicom 2 has been certified to American and Canadian Standards. US: CSA Certified, & IAPMO (UPC) listed - ASME A112.3.4, CA: CSA B45.9 / UL778 6th Ed / PS 52-2009e1
